The Aetna Employee Assistance Program provides McClatchy employees and their dependents confidential, around-the-clock assistance that helps them balance the demands of work, life and personal issues. The EAP offers support for parenting issues, work-related situations, relationship problems, substance abuse and even self-improvement. This is a McClatchy-paid benefit available to you, your spouse and members of your household.

The EAP gives you unlimited telephone access to licensed behavioral health professionals and up to five face-to-face visits with a counselor for each incident per year with no co-pays or deductibles. Should you need additional visits and you are enrolled in one of the Aetna medical plans, counseling may continue but co-pays or deductibles/coinsurance may apply.

In addition, the EAP benefit includes legal and financial services. You get 30 minutes free consultation with a plan attorney and discounted rates after the initial consultation as well as 30 minutes free consultation with a selected financial counselor.
